I have been counseling people since 1977. This has mainly involved young people, ages 13 to 30, their families, and other involved professionals.. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LF 60307974). I was originally licensed in California in 1993. Since moving from California to Spokane in 2013 I have been increasingly involved with couples therapy.
I received my BA in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, in 1976. I have an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, from 1988. I have worked in all manner of treatment settings, often with severely disordered people. I have a strong familiarity with Psychiatry, yet I am very aware of the role environment plays in influencing a person's happiness. I am "psychodynamic" in training, but I combine that with many other modalities, such as relationships, education and development, in practice. That's pretty typical for veteran therapists to do. My style is open and conversational. I enjoy what I do, and I am proud of the success I have had over many years with adolescents.
